I think my explanatory photograph is my best photo because it clearly shows the step-by-step process of someone jumping into a puddle, from getting ready to the splash. Each picture captures a moment, making it easy for anyone to understand what's happening. This approach not only makes it easy for viewers to understand what's happening but also engages them in a dynamic way. Additionally, the use of a sequence allows for a deeper exploration of movement and emotion. The progression from one frame to the next creates a sense of rhythm and momentum, enhancing the overall impact of the series. The movement in the pictures also makes my photo more appealing and interesting.
The most challenging part of this assignment was taking pictures for each category. I was getting a little confused on which photos would be theoretical, interpretive, or explanatory. But after rewatching the lecture and researching more, I was able to better understand which photos to use.
In the future, I plan to explore more so my photos can have more variety. I've been taking pictures in similar locations, so for the next projects I plan to change it up a little.
Part 2:
Hi! I really like this photo as well. Your photograph of the fresh takoyaki really stands out in this project. Its success as a descriptive photograph lies in its ability to convey both the appearance of the food and the practical aspect of how it's meant to be eaten, with the inclusion of the stick. By providing viewers with a clear visual of the freshly cooked takoyaki and the utensil accompanying it, you're effectively communicating not only what they can expect in terms of presentation but also how they can engage with the dish.

What I like about your explanatory photo here is how elegant it is. While I can clearly see the process you wanted to show, what I like best about the photo are the colors. The black of the asphalt and the brown wall on the left look good together. It makes me feel like I'm out on a stroll with a friend on a nice gloomy day. If I were to change one thing about it to improve, I'd say next time you should get closer to the splash zone so your audience can focus more on the process as it relates to the puddle.

I really like your photo series! I struggled to think of a way to take an explanatory photo for this assignment and I think you did a great job. Your series highlights the way someone could jump into a puddle as well as shows the effecting that jumping into a puddle has on the water. I really like that you can see the water splash directly following the jump into the puddle. Great job!
